Wilson and Marler Participate in Missouri History Museum Event
On Thursday, April 13, Mineral Area College (MAC) history instructor Rodney Wilson and MAC Student Government and Gay-Straight Alliance president Ricco Marler were part of an event at the Missouri History Museum on the eve of the National Day of Silence, an annual observance since 1996, bringing attention to the silencing of LGBTQ+ persons and history.
Wilson delivered opening remarks and moderated a panel of four college students, Ricco Marler (MAC), Amariah Hardwick (Harris-Stowe), Khaliah Booker (Fontbonne), and Jake Baine (UMSL), who shared about their high school and college experiences as LGBTQ+ students.
The event was part of the Missouri History Museum's Thursday Nights at the Museum series, which features fun, engaging, thought-provoking, and perspective-shaping topics for the St. Louis region.
