  Student Nurses Association

Students in the Associates Degree Nursing program at MAC are required to belong to a nationally recognized National Student nurses organization. This membership will enhance leadership skills and continued awareness of professional issues.

MAC students can join the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA). MAC sponsors an active local chapter of the NSNA. The local chapter focuses on community health awareness. MAC SNA members are encouraged to participate in the local chapter as well as on a state level (MONSA).

Some of the community health projects that the MAC SNA have been involved in are:

  • The American Heart Association Heart Walk
  • Family Wellness Fair
  • AIDS Memorial Quilt Display
  • MAC SNA –KREI/ KTJJ Blood Drive
  • Farmington High School Band Festival
  • Labor Day Picnic

The MAC SNA also participates in campus activities such as:

  • Homecoming Pep Rally
  • Spring Picnic
  • Campus Holiday Decorating
  • Campus Socials

As an organization, the MAC SNA is considered a family. Our goal as a family is to work as a whole to help one another build confidence and to make sure that everyone has a voice in the decisions for the group. The MAC SNA has group activities that are both educational and helpful to build bonds between members of the group.

  • Mentor/Mentee Program
  • State Convention
  • National Convention
  • Group Fundraisers
  • Monthly Meetings
  • Group Workshops
  • Educational Skits

Participation in these activities provides wonderful experiences and memories.

A wise instructor told the Freshmen 2004 Associates Degree Nursing students,” These 32 students will forever be a part of your family, you will learn to deal with their imperfections and you will love them for who they are.” She could not have been more right.
