to assist students in the career decision making and job search process.
Most students need guidance in making an educated career decision. The Career Planning Center focuses on the career planning process and is dedicated to helping individuals identify their educational and career goals and develop a plan to reach those goals.
PAW1960 Career Planning (1 credit
hour)
This course is designed to assist students in choosing a career through interests, abilities, and workplace value assessments. These assessment results provide the framework for career exploration through a variety of sources, including computerized career information systems, books, and job shadowing. Students work one-on-one with career advisors to obtain career information on job duties, outlook, education, and pay.
PAW1060 Prep for Employment (1 credit hour)
A course designed to teach students skills essential to the development of a sound job seeking strategy. The class requires the students to prepare a resume, cover letter, follow-up, and application blank, as well as practice interviewing techniques and learn tips to improve thier chances of being successfully employed.
