6. ATTEND ORIENTATION
Once you receive notification that you have been accepted to Mineral Area College, you will be invited to sign up online for a C.A.R.D.S. (College Advisement/Registration Day for Students) orientation program. The one-day program features academic advising, registration for classes, campus tours, and information on housing, financial aid, billing, parking and student IDs.
C.A.R.D.S. is a required orientation for students attending MAC as first-time freshmen or first-year students with fewer than 15 college credit hours. The orientation is usually held the semester before the student begins at Mineral Area College. C.A.R.D.S. programs are not held in the fall so students planning to begin classes in the spring semester will not participate in C.A.R.D.S. Students who are admitted late and/or cannot attend a C.A.R.D.S. program may not register until after the last scheduled C.A.R.D.S. program for the semester. Exceptions to the above policy may be approved by the Registrar or the Dean of Student Services.
