| Mr. Simmons graduated the 470 Hour Basic Police Academy at the Mineral Area College Law Enforcement Academy in May of 1998. He then went on to complete an Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice/Police Administration at Mineral Area College in 2005 and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Psychology at Central Methodist University in May of 2007. Mr. Simmons has worked for St. Francois County Sheriff's Department since March of 2004 where he has had advanced training on the MULES and NCIC computer systems. While at St. Francois County Sheriff's Department, Mr. Simmons has served as a Detention Enforcement Officer and 24th Associate Circuit Court Bailiff. Before that time Mr. Simmons worked as a Patrol Officer for the City of Bismarck, Missouri and at the Lake Timberline Development Police Department. Mr. Simmons' other advanced training includes Clandestine Laboratory Training, DWI Enforcement and Law Enforcement Generalist Intructor Training. As Mr. Simmons grew up in multiple foster care and other placements, he has developed a special interest in Child Abuse and Neglect Investigations and has provided in-service training to several public school districts on Mandated Reporting and related matters. Mr. Simmons has also addressed a multitude of interested civic groups to inform the public about and to gain support for abused and neglected children. Mr. Simmons is currently authoring a book that addresses Foster Parenting Issues from a Biblical Perspective; as well as, authoring an online Devotional Blog and Website, www.healshurts.com . Mr. Simmons enjoys Public Speaking and Motorcycling and is the Vice President of the East Central Missouri Chapter of Biker's Against Child Abuse (BACA), a member of the Mineral Area Elks Lodge #2583, and a member of the Bonne Terre Samaritan Masonic Lodge #424. Mr. Simmons lives in Farmington, Missouri with his wife Amanda and two young sons Layton and Lucas (due to arrive in November of 2008) and his dog "Sassy". |
