Mark A. Mattina is the Battalion Chief for the Mineral Area College Fire and Rescue Academy. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Mark moved to Farmington after graduating from Oakville Senior High School. In 1996 Mark began his career in the fire service as a part-time employee with the Farmington Fire Department. In 1998 Mark became a career Firefighter/EMT for the Farmington Fire Dept. Mark is very involved in local and state wide organizations while maintaining a very active personal life with his wife, Jennifer and son, Parker. Mark is the District 8 Board Member of the Fire Fighter Association of Missouri (FFAM). Mark holds a seat on the Mineral Area College Advisory Committee. Mark also held a position with the Backstoppers of St. Francois County for several years. As Battalion Chief of the Fire and Rescue Academy, Mark's duties include degree counselor for fire academy recruits, public relations, safety operations, tele-courses, test proctoring while instructing many hours of fire academy related courses. |
