Welcome to Composition II, Spring 2008!  In this class, you will fine-tune your critical thinking and academic writing skills. Although you will continue to explore the various essays within the rhetorical tradition, you will hone in on the argument/persuasion process.  That is, you'll find the emphasis of this course is placed on the ultimate goal of rhetoric--argument.  In addition, you will learn methods and applications of research.  By the end of the semester, you will have investigated and analyzed various types of research sources.  You will also have become familiar with methods of organizing research and the application of appropriate documentation of the research paper (in this course, you will use MLA style).  And, of course, you'll master the proper organization (structure) and composition of the research paper itself.
