Ms. Seaber received her undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis and completed her masters at Southeast Missouri State University. She comes to MAC from Southeast where she taught Composition I. Ms. Seaber has published literary articles in Big Muddy and in the Teaching Faulkner Newsletter (see: http://www.semo.edu/cfs/teaching/index.htm). She has also published articles in Natural Health magazine and the Open Mind column of the St. Louis Post Dispatch. She won an American Poetry Award in 2005 for her poem Betrayal #1. In Sept. 07, her poem Herd Poisoning was published in Yarnspinners and Wordweavers, an online newsletter for writers.
In addition, Ms. Seaber has presented at both national and international literary conferences, including the International Doris Lessing Conference, the Twentieth Century Conference, and the Missouri Philological Conference. Ms. Seaber's professional memberships include the Modern Language Association, the National Council for the Teachers of English, and the Doris Lessing Society.
Ms. Seaber's hobbies include reading, writing, gardening, and house renovation. She also plays piano, practices yoga, and fast walks. She and her family share their home with Francis (the original scaredy cat), and Maximillion, the suave, daring, and sophisticated mouser (aka: Mr. Max). |
