Department of Social Science

Mission Statement

       Our mission is to provide quality education for the Mineral Area College community in those

       areas of knowledge, skills, and values that are consistent with Liberal Arts Education and that

       are further developed within the subject matter that comprise the Social Sciences, both in

       content and methodology, which deal with the total person as an individual and with the

       interaction of human beings in groups.  The department offers a wide variety of courses that

       can be taken for elective credit or career preparation, as well as for academic transfer of                social science majors into baccalaureate level programs at four-year schools.
