On Thursday, March
22, 2007, we hosted the 24th Annual Mineral Area College Science
Fair. The Fair was open to students in grades 6-12.
The categories were Behavioral and Social Science, Biology, Chemistry,
Computer Science, Earth Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and
Physics.
Changes
to the 2007 Fair included:
- The major change for this year’s Fair was that the students did NOT need to send a $5 entry fee. Mineral Area College picked up the cost of this fee that paid for the science fair T-shirt and certificate for students attending the Fair.
- Another change was the name of the Fair. The fair was begun by the Math-Science Department which split into two departments many years ago. The fair continues to involve the disciplines of psychology, math, and computer science under the heading of Science Fair.
- Another change was that students would be asked to remove their projects from the fair if the project was determined to be unsafe to the fair participants.
- The other change was that the Fair was held on a Thursday instead of a Saturday.
