Each Spring the Science Department hosts the WYSE Academic Challenge for this area. The Academic Challenge is a set of competitive tests prepared by the Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering ( WYSE ) organization. This competition has been operating in Illinois since 1975, and this was the fifth year that MAC hosted a regional competition.  The 2006 Regional Competition will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2006 on the Mineral Area College Campus.
