The MAC prairie is being grown by the joint efforts of the MAC science department, horticulture department, and general services with the leadership of the Missouri Department of Conservation. 

The Future Farmers of America have came out in Fall 2010 to use the prairie to practice for the high school competition.  MAC classes that use the prairie include: Field Biology, Botany, Horticulture, , Local Flora and Local Fauna.   It is also a prairie demonstration for the Missouri Department of Conservation.
