The Math Lab


Instructors in the Math Lab offer personalized assistance to all Mineral Area College students who need help with any aspect of mathematics from Arithmetic Skills through Calculus. In addition, the Math Lab has computer tutorial programs and videos that supplement the instruction.

The Math Lab is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. (Fall/Spring) Limited math assistance is available Monday through Thursday evenings.

Developmental Classes, Non-credit Courses
The Learning Center offers the following developmental courses:

    • Arithmetic Skills
    • Elementary Algebra

Each module is a one (1) credit hour class, and unless noted otherwise, counts towards a General Studies degree only. Enrollment is by student choice or as determined by a placement test. Developmental Courses are as follows:

The Math Lab also offers one hour courses that will apply towards an AA degree: 

    • MAT-100-AA01, Metric Measurement (1 credit hour)
 

Students work on the above course(s) independently under the guidance of the Learning Center instructors. Regular attendance is required, one hour per week for each one hour course. All courses begin the first week of each new semester. Refer to the appropriate course syllabus for more information, for specific assignments, and for the deadlines for submitting work.
