PLAY: RUMORS

At his own 10th wedding anniversary party, the Deputy Mayor of New York has just shot himself. It is only a flesh wound, but the host lies bleeding in the other room as guests arrive, and his wife is nowhere to be found. The guests struggle to get the story straight before the police arrive, setting the stage for this hysterical classic farce by Neil Simon.

2 Obie Awards, Urinetown is a comedic musical satire focused on the legal system, social irresponsibility, corporate mismanagement, and municipal politics. In a Gotham-like city, a water shortage causes a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The public facilities are regulated by a single malevolent company that charges admission to profit from a basic human need. A hero arises with plans to begin a revolution and lead the people to lavatory freedom.
