Mrs. Douglas began her teaching career at Mineral Area College in 1990 as Coordinator and Instructor in the Practical Nursing Program. She worked in the hospital setting for twelve years prior to coming to MAC.  In 1996 she became the Director of the Allied Health Department. She teaches Maternity Nursing in the Associate Degree and Practical Nursing Programs, Contemporary Nursing in the ADN Program, Obstetrical Emergencies in the Paramedic Technology Program, and a web based First Aid course.  She is responsible for all Allied Health Department programs.

Mrs. Kelly began her teaching career at Mineral Area College in the Associate Degree Nursing Program in 2007. She serves as the Coordinator of the freshman year and teaches Fundamentals of Nursing, Basic Pharmacology, Therapeutic Nutrition, Maternity Nursing and Mental Health Nursing.

Mrs. Schwent began her teaching career at Mineral Area College in 2008 as a clinical instructor and IV Therapy instructor.  In 2009 she became a full-time instructor in the Practical Nursing Program.  Mrs. Schwent began teaching in the ADN Program in 2011.  She teaches Fundamentals of Nursing, Basic Pharmacology, Mental Health Nursing, Maternity Nursing, and Therapeutic Nutrition in the freshman year of the Associate Degree Nursing Program.

Mrs. Ketcherside began her teaching career at Mineral Area College in 1998 after working at St. John's Mercy Medical Center for 23 years in critical care where she worked in CCU and CVR as a nurse manager and as Quality Improvement Coordinator and evening supervisor. She teaches Med-Surg I, Med-Surg II, Nursing of Children and Clinical Pharmacology in the sophomore year of the ADN Program.

Ms. Jinkerson began her teaching career at Mineral Area College in 1984 in the Practical Nursing Program. She is the Coordinator and Instructor in the Practical Nursing Program. Ms. Jinkerson and the PN Faculty team teach all courses in the PN Program.

Ms. Hutcheson came to Mineral Area College in 2007 as a full-time instructor.  She began her teaching career in the Practical Nursing Program in Sikeston.  She later taught in the Associate Degree Nursing Program and Practical Nursing Program at Three Rivers Community College. Previous nursing experience includes:  staff nurse and charge nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Clinical Nurse Manager of a Wound Clinic, Clinical Nursing Instructor for Mineral Area College, and Nursing Instructor for Sikeston R-6 and Three Rivers Community College.

Ms. Smith began working at Mineral Area College in 2010 after working at St. Louis university Hospital in the Trauma/Surgical ICU for seven years, Mehlville Fire Protection District on the ALS Ambulance for three years, Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in the Pediatric ICU for six years, and at St. Anthony's Hospital as an RN Educator.  She is the Coordinator of the Paramedic to RN Bridge Program.

Mr. Meenach began working at Mineral Area College in 2006 as the Paramedic Coordinator and Instructor.  Prior to coming to MAC Mr. Meenach worked as a Paramedic at Rock Township Ambulance District and Mehlville Fire Protection District for 22 years and St. Anthony's Emergency Room (Adult and Pediatric) for 5 years.   He has also served as a subject matter expert and author for McGraw-Hill and Pearson and a collaborative author in Micro Simulation Training.  He currently serves as the Director of EMS Education and teaches in the PAR to RN Bridge Program.

Paramedic Technology:

The Mineral Area College Paramedic Technology Program is accredited by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services UNIT OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES.  An Associate of Applied Science Degree in Paramedic Technology or a Certificate in Paramedic Technology are offered.

Ms. Jansen began working at Mineral Area College in 2011 as the instructor of the Paramedic Program.  She has been a Paramedic Educator since 1991, has served as a Paramedic Training Officer for the St. Louis Fire Department and was the Program Coordinator for EMS Programs at St. Louis Community College.

Emergency Medical Technician-Basic:

The EMT-Basic course provides the basic instruction for persons responsible for the delivery of emergency medical services.  In addition to the 110 hours of classroom instruction, two 12-hour emergency department rotations and three 12-hour ambulance rotations are required.  Successful completion of a practical exam and a written exam will allow the student to be enrolled in the National Registry of EMT's and apply for a Missouri State EMT license.
