Mike Overman is entering his second year as the athletic director at Mineral Area College.  During his first year in 2016-2017, the athletic department continued to flourish, with two teams winning Region XVI championships and one qualifying for the national tournament.

Mike, who grew up in Beaufort, Missouri and attended Union High School, spent five years as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the MAC baseball team prior to becoming athletic director.  Mike played baseball at Southwestern Illinois College from 2004-2006.

After graduating from SWIC, he moved on to play two seasons at Lincoln University and graduated with a B.A. in 2008.  Mike was an All-Heartland Conference outfielder as a senior at Lincoln.  He decided to stay at Lincoln for the 2008-2009 academic year as a graduate assistant baseball coach, while pursuing a graduate degree in history.  Mike then spent 2009-2011 as an assistant baseball coach and residence life coordinator at North Central Missouri College before moving on to MAC in the fall of 2011.

As athletic director at MAC, Mike hopes to continue to build upon the athletic department’s strong tradition of success on the courts and playing fields.  More importantly though, he would like to see MAC’s student-athletes continue to excel in the classroom, engage with the community, and graduate after finishing their playing careers as a MAC Cardinal.  “I could not be more thrilled and honored to be the athletic director at Mineral Area College.  MAC is a special place, and I look forward to working with our coaches to continue improving our student-athlete’s experience here.”

In addition to his duties as athletic director, Mike also teaches courses in MAC’s history department.
