The Cards averaged 78 3/4 as a team for the event. Brett Declue finished 9th individually with a 74-74. Freshman Kyle Wallen stepped up his game with a 75-82 and "Mr. Consistency," Tate Lietzau-Mourer shot 79-78. "All in all, the players are learning what it takes to play college golf. It is vey exciting for our program," stated Head Golf Coach Tony Gans.

(10/7) The Cardinals Golf team finished 7th at The Maryville Invitational. The Cards finished in the middle of the pack of 13 teams in the tournament.  Individual leaders were Brett Declue (79-78) 16th place and Tate Lietzau-Mourer (81-82) 27th place. "The course at Aberdeen was traditional Scottish Links, meaning if you missed the fairway, you were going to lose your ball in the gunch," stated Head Coach Tony Ganz. "It required a lot of patience, and the team is learning that we can play with the four-year schools. I'm proud of all of them for their guts in hanging tough," added Gans.

(9/25)  Cardinals finished 22nd at the Lindenwood Invitational at Crecent Farms. Mineral Area competed against some of the best four-year NAIA schools in the event. "This gives us an idea of where we are as a new program and how much better we need to get," stated Head Coach Tony Gans. MAC's leader in the event was Brett Declue, scoring 77-78-79. Tate Lietzau-Mourer also tied for the team low single round of 77.

(9/18)  Mineral Area Golf plays in their first tournament of 2008.  The Cardinals placed 11th out of 18 teams in the John A. Logan Invitational in Carterville, IL.  Brett DeClue paced the birds shooting 80 on Sunday and 79 on Monday.

(7/28)  Two more golfers in the fold for Coach Gans and Mineral Area's Golf program. Two local prospects will hit the fairways this fall and spring in Cardinal red.  Kyle Wallen (Festus HS - Festus, MO) and Clay Street (Fredericktown HS - Fredericktown, MO) have made commitments to the program.  With these two additions to the squad, Gans has seven players to work with for the upcoming season.

(7/7)  Men's Golf releases preview of 2008 schedule.  "We will generally play against NAIA competition in some local Invitationals," commented Coach Tony Gans.  "The MAC Golf team gives local kids a chance to compete, hone their game against solid competition, and get some solid coaching."  Gans hopes that the addition of the golf team will help prepare his golfers to earn a four-year scholarship while earning an Associates degree.  The team will open their season on September 14 & 15 at the John A. Logan Classic in Carterville, IL.  They will play in the Lindenwood University Invitational at Cresent Farms Golf Club (St. Charles, MO) on September 22 & 23.  The team will also play at Aberdeen Golf Club (Eureka, MO) on October 5 & 6 in the Maryville University Fall Classic.
