MAC Tournament Details:
The Cardinals earned the #4 seed and faced #5 St. Charles in the first round on Wednesday (5/7) at 9:00am. The first round was rained delayed on Wednesday and Thursday, and the tournament was subject to weather. The Cards opening game was tied 1-1 in the 5th and was resumed on Friday after a two day rain delay. St. Charles upset Mineral Area College 6-3 to advance to the Winners Bracket.
The Cards won their second round contest in dramatic fashion over North Central 10-8. Mineral Area trailed 7-4 in the bottom of the 6th and used a 6 run inning to survive and advance to their third game in the tournamnet. The Cards played an elimination game on Sunday against Maplewoods. Mineral Area led in the 7th 10-9, but ended the season with an 11-10 setback in 8 innings. MAC finished the season with a 28-21 record.

a letter of intent to play baseball at Mineral Area
College. Netsell, who was also a football and basketball standout for
the Vikings, hit .375 with 21 RBIs as Parkview's catcher this season.
(5/16) North County's Beers and Moss will play for the MAC Cardinals in 2008. Tyler Beers, a first baseman and releif pitcher for the Raiders, has inked a letter of intent to play baseball for Mineral Area College. He was an All-District selection as a junior. Chad Moss was an All-District and All-Conference selection as a junior. He plays outfeild and leads-off for the Raiders, and should be used in a similar capacity next season in a MAC Cardinals uniform.
(5/14) Cardinals win three games in NJCAA Region XVI Championship Tournament. The Mineral Area Cardinals finish the season winning four of their last six to climb to 20-34 on the season. MAC finished 3rd in the Region XVI Tournament, with three of the wins coming in the past week-end. The Cards upset St. Charles in the opening round 4-2, before getting nipped in round two by MapleWoods 4-2. Jim Gerwitz's Cardinals bounced back by eliminating Meramec 6-1 and knocking out St. Charles 13-11. MapleWoods ended the Cards run with a 12-3 win, as MAC ran out of pitching.
