Head Coach Dave Guemmer enters his 3rd season as Head Softball Coach.  In his first season, the Lady Cardinals won Region XVI and District J championships to earn a berth in the NJCAA Division II World Series. In his second season MAC once again won the Region XVI Tournament title.  This was highlighted by a superlative 15-1 Region XVI regular season record.  MAC was defeated in the district tournament by Murray State Community College of Oklahoma, falling one game short of the World Series for the 2nd consecutive season. Before beginning his coaching duties at Mineral Area, Coach Guemmer was the head Coach of the DeSoto High School Softball program for 9 years.   He was named the "KTTJ Coach of the Year" in 2006 & 2007.  The Dragons won District Championships in 2003, 2004, 2006, and 2007, advancing to the Missouri State Championship Semi-Finals in 2006.  "Softball has finally become very competitive in the southern Jefferson County and St. Francios County areas.  The addition of the softball team allows us to bring quality student-athletes to MAC and allow them an opportunity to play softball close to home," commented Coach Guemmer.
