Tim Copeland

Head Coach

11th Year

Tim Copeland is entering his eleventh season as the Head Coach for the Cardinals. In his 10 years here, he has an impressive overall coaching record of 251 - 116. Last season the Cardinals went 26-10. Three seasons ago the Lady Cards went 26-11 and tied for the MCCAC Conference Championship. Four years ago was the most successful season in Mineral Area volleyball history. MAC had a record setting year, where they went 35-7, won the school's first ever Region XVI title, and advanced to the 2011 NJCAA Division I National Championship.  The Cardinals earned a final NJCAA Ranking of 10th.  Along the way, Mineral Area defeated West Plains, Jefferson College, Miami-Dade and Wallace State-Hanceville.  All of these schools were ranked in the top 25 nationally.

Tim's coaching career started in 1990 when he became a Student Assistant Coach at Jefferson College. The following year, he was appointed to the position of Assistant Volleyball Coach. He also took over the coaching responsibilities for the Jefferson Juniors, a USVBA club team.

While at Jefferson College, Tim had the chance to learn and develop under legendary coach Jo Ellen Stringer. Jo Ellen Stringer is the winningest college coach in America, and has lead Jefferson College to 24 NJCAA National Tournaments. In 1994, Tim left Jefferson College to take on the task of becoming the Head Coach at Missouri Baptist College (now University). When Tim entered Missouri Baptist, the team had a record of 3-43. After two short years, Tim had turned the program around ending the season with a 30-7 record.  In 2002, Tim decided to head back to Jefferson College to again take on roll as Assistant Coach.

This season MAC has brought in one of its best freshman classes ever and has high hopes to once again claim a Region XVI Title.
