(9/28/15) Midnight Madness- Tuesday, October 13th at the Bob Sechrest Field House. There will be tailgating with free hot dogs and soda in front of the Bob Sechrest Field House for the MAC student-athletes and the entire community.  The tailgate starts at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13th.  The MAC volleyball game against MSU-West Plains will begin at 6:30 p.m.  Midnight Madness will follow the volleyball game.  This will be the first look at the women’s and men’s basketball teams.  There will be a 3 point shootout as well as a slam dunk competition.  Pizza will also be provided.  Someone will get a chance to win free tuition hours for the spring semester.  We will also have our 2nd hour Courtside Couch drawing for Homecoming.

(5/15/15)  Alexia Perry signs to play at MAC.  The Lady Cards have announced the signing of Alexia Perry to play for Mineral Area next season.  Alexia was an all-state player in the state of Arkansas in the 2014-15 season. 

(5/15/15) Lady Cards sign Kourtney Kekec.  MAC signed Kourtney Kekec to play basketball at Mineral Area College for the 2015-2016 season.  Kourtney was an academic-all state basketball player for the North County Raiders last season.  She scored over 1,000 points in her career for the Raiders.  She plans on majoring in Biochemistry.  Kekec was also a standout volleyball player earning all-state honors in that as well.

(4/17/15)  Lady Cards sign Kenzie Jones.  MAC has announced the signing of Kenzie Jones from Central High School in Park Hills, Missouri.  Kenzie was a key contributor for Central. The Lady Rebels went 30-1 and won the Missouri State High School 3A State Championship this past year.

(4/1/15)  Kasia Kiejdrowska named All-American. MAC point guard Kasia Kiejdrowska was named a NJCAA 3rd Team All-American.  Kasia played a key role in leading the Lady Cards to a 25-6 overall record and a Region 16 Championship.

(3/11/15)  Heartbreaking loss to Iowa Western ends Lady Cards season.

The MAC Lady Cardinals hosted national ranked Iowa Western on Friday, March 6th in the District K Title game.  The Lady Cards battled Iowa Western to overtime, but lost the game by the score on 75-74.  The MAC Lady Cards finished their season with an outstanding record of 25-6 and their first Region 16 Championship in the history of the MAC Lady Cardinal basketball program.  The Lady Cardinals were also ranked 20th in the final NJCAA National poll.

(3/3/15)  NJCAA District Information for upcoming games.   Here is the schedule for this weekend concerning the NJCAA District games and our Mineral Area College basketball teams:


#20 MAC vs. #17 Iowa Western (Women) at MAC at 6 pm on Friday, March 6th

#10 MAC vs. Kankakee (Men) at Kankakee at 8 pm on Saturday, March 7th


For the women's game at MAC, the cost of attendance is $5 for adults, and $2 for students.  MAC Passes will not be used for this event.


We will be taking a fan bus to Kankakee on Saturday, March 7th.  The bus will leave from in front of the Field House (by student parking lot C) at Noon on Saturday.  The bus will be stopping for dinner somewhere on the road at the expense of the passengers. This is a 56 passenger bus.  We will be taking the first 56 to sign up.  The cost of riding the bus is $20 per person.  The cost to get in the game will be $5 for adults.  Please contact Chad Mills at (573)518-2134 if you have interest in riding the fan bus.

(3/2/15)  Lady Cards win Region 16 Championship. The MAC Lady Cardinal Women’s Basketball team participated in the Region 16 Tournament in Joplin over the weekend.  The Lady Cards semi-finals opponent was Moberly.  Mineral Area defeated the Lady Greyhounds by the score of 73-56.  MAC then played the 9th ranked team in the nation, State Fair, in the finals.  They Lady Cards captured the Region 16 title by defeating State Fair by the score of 71-61. This was the first Region 16 Championship in school history for the MAC Lady Cards Basketball team.

The MAC Lady Cards will host Iowa Western on Friday, March 6th in the District Championship.  Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the Bob Sechrest Field House.  The winner of the game will get a bid for the NJCAA National Tournament in Salina, Kansas.

(2/23/15)  Lady Cards fall to State Fair. The Mineral Area College Women’s Basketball team hosted State Fair on Saturday, February 21st for Homecoming.  The Lady Cards lost the game to the nationally ranked Lady Roadrunners by the score of 77-62.  The MAC Lady Cards Women’s Basketball team now has a record of 23-5 on the season and are ranked #23 in the most recent NJCAA poll.

They will be participating in the Region 16 Women’s Basketball tournament in Joplin this weekend. MAC is the #2 seed and will play Friday at 3:00 p.m. against a to-be-determined opponent.

(2/19/15)  Homecoming this weekend at MAC.  The Lady Cards will take on State Fair on Saturday, at the Bob Sechrest Field House at 5:00. The winner will be the #1 seed in the upcoming Region 16 tournament. The Lady Cards are 23-4 and ranked #23 in the nation.

(2/12/14)  MAC wins again on the road; now 22-3.  The Lady Cards traveled to Jefferson College last night and won another MCCAC/NJCAA Region 16 road game over the Vikings to improve to 22-3 overal.  MAC is 7-1 in the region and has clinched a 1st round bye.  They have two region games remaining and could clinch the #1 seed if they win both games.

(2/2/15)  Lady Cards grab big road win at Moberly.  The women's basketball team won a key Region 16 game on Saturday evening at Moberly, by the score of 64-58.  They are now 21-3 overall and 6-1 in the Region 16 regular season standings.

(1/29/15) Game with Washington University JV is canceled.  The game with Washington University JV on February 4th has been canceled and will not be made up. 

(1/26/15)  Lady Cards fall to #17 State Fair.  MAC lost to State Fair, in Sedalia, by the score of 75-72.  The Cardinals were up late, but saw their lead vanish thanks to an 8-0 run by the Roadrunners.  Both teams were ranked in the top 20 teams in the nation.  The MAC women will get a chance to play them again on Homecoming night, (February 21st) at the Bob Sechrest Field House.

(1/22/15)  MAC now ranked 18th.  The women's team moves up five spots from #23.  Both the men's and women's basketball team are currently ranked in the top 20 of NJCAA Division I schools.

(1/22/15)  Late comeback lifts Cards to another win.  The women's basketball team was trailing with 1:50 to go in game 58-49.They outscored St. Louis Community College 16-3 the rest of the way to win 65-61.

MAC record is now 19-2.  They are ranked 23rd in the NJCAA National poll. 
MAC is 5-0 in Region 16 and 5-0 in the MCCAC Conference.

(1/20/15)  Lady Cards continue to roll.  Mineral Area hosted the Lady Greyhounds of Moberly on Saturday, January 17th.  The MAC Lady Cards defeated Moberly, winning by the score of 64-42.  The MAC Lady Cardinals are ranked 23rd in the nation and have a record of 18-2 on the season.

(1/7/15)  Lady Cards climb to #23 in latest NJCAA poll.  The Mineral Area women's basketball team moved from 30th to 23rd in the January 7th NJCAA National Poll.  MAC is 15-2 on the season and will play Crowder on Saturday at 2:00.

(1/5/15)  Women defeat Three Rivers in home contest.  The MAC women continued their great start to the season with a convincing win over Three Rivers on Saturday night at the Bob Sechrest Field House.  The Cardinals won 72-42 and now have a record of 15-2 on the season.  Mineral Area will next play Crowder at home at the Bob Sechrest Field House on Saturday at 2:00.

(1/2/15)  MAC to face Three Rivers tomorrow night.  The Mineral area women's basketball team will face Three Rivers tomorrow night in a home contest.  The Lady Cards have been rolling lately with wins over Malcolm X and Vincennes in the MAC Holiday Classic. They are 14-2 overall with their only losses to nationally ranked Iowa Western and Vincennes on the road, earlier this season.

(12/11/14) Lady Cards win at Three Rivers.  The Mineral Area women's basketball team scored an impressive victory in Poplar Bluff on Tuesday night. Mineral Area defeated the Lady Raiders 82-60.

MAC (11-1) will now play nationally ranked Iowa Western at home, on Saturday night at 6:00 pm, as a part of the Rotary Shootout.

(12/2/14)  Cardinals defeat Malcolm X in Chicago.  The MAC women went on the road and defeated Malcolm X College by the score of 87-35.  The Lady Cards are off to a great start at 8-1 this season and will play on the road again on Friday, December 5th against St. Louis Community College.

(11/24/14)  Women go 2-0 in Marshalltown Classic. The Mineral Area College Women’s Basketball team participated in the Marshalltown, Iowa Classic over the weekend.  The Lady Cards defeated DMACC on Friday evening by the score of 81-60.  Mineral Area then beat the host school, Marshalltown, by the score of 70-54.  The MAC Lady Cards now have a record of 7-1 on the season.

(11/17/14) Mineral Area goes 1-1 in Vincennes Classic.  The Lady Cards defeated St. Clair (93-65) and lost to Vincennes (62-65) to split their games in the Sodexo Vincennes Classic.  MAC is now 5-1 and will travel to Marshalltown, Iowa to play in the Marshalltown Classic on Friday and Saturday

(11/13/14)  MAC defeats Southeastern Illinois.  The Cardinals dominated the second half to score a convincing 90-39 victory over the visiting Falcons.  Mineral Area is now 4-0 and will play in the Vincennes Classic this weekend.

(11/10/14)  Lady Cards defeat Lindenwood-Belleville.  MAC defeated Lindenwood Belleville by the score of 90-53.  The Cardinals started the game on a 26-5 run before winning by a 37 point margin.

(11/3/14)  Women open up season with two wins.  The Mineral Area College Women’s Basketball team played in the John A. Logan Classic this weekend to kick off their season.  The MAC Lady Cards beat Parkland on Saturday evening by the score of 88-69.  MAC then defeated John Wood on Sunday in double overtime by the score of 86-82.  The Mineral Area College Women’s Basketball team now has a record of 2-0 on the season.

(10/6/14)  Cardinals getting ready to start pre-season. The MAC Women’s Basketball team will travel to Dallas, Texas to play in the annual Frisco Jamboree on Friday, October 10th.  The Lady Cards will play Kansas City Community College at 9:00 a.m., Dodge City at noon and Seward at 3:00 p.m.

(9/29/14) Mark Your Calendar- Midnight Madness is just around the corner (Thurs. Oct. 16) Midnight Madness is just a few weeks away.  Come meet the athletes at Mineral Area College on Thursday, October 16th.  We will be grilling hot dogs and giving away soda by Hal Loughary Field at 5:00 p.m.  The MAC Volleyball team will be hosting Region 16 opponent MSU-West Plains at 6:30 p.m.   After the volleyball game is over, Midnight Madness begins.  There will be a brief scrimmage for the women’s basketball team and the men’s basketball team.  The Cheerleaders and Redbird Revolution will perform.  There will be a slam dunk contest and a 3 point shootout.  Three students will be drawn to shoot a half-court shot for free tuition.  Free pizza and soda will also be provided.

(9/23/14) Lady Cards preparing for 2014-2015 season.  The Mineral Area Women's basketball team will open up their pre-season scrimmage schedule with the Frisco Jamboree on October 10th in Frisco, Texas.  Their regular season will start on November 1st in the John A. Logan Classic against Parkland College out of Illinois.
