(6/15)  Mineral Area earns MCCAC Conference Sportsmanship Award, places 4 on All-Conference squad.  The Cardinals placed four baseball players on the MCCAC All-Conference Honorable Mention Team, they are: Tony Spencer (Fr. IF), Michael Hardin (So. P), Joaby Sikes (So. IF), and Tyler Stahl (So. IF).

(5/12)  Cards drop 3-0 contest to Jefferson and season ends with 9-1 set-back to Crowder in Region XVI Tournament action.  The season came to an end with two losses in the Regional Tournament, Cards look to rebuild for next season.

(5/3)  Mineral Area continues improved play: earn split with MCCAC foe Florissant Valley. The Cardinals fell just short of a sweep dropping the first game 4-3 in eight innings, but bounced back to win the second contest 7-5.  Mike Hardin suffered the loss, while Luke Holland earned a win for the birds. (4/28)  No Magic for Cardinals against Meramec: Cards drop pair 13-1 & 10-6.  Blake Jones and Jeremy Warren took the losses on the hill.  The offense struggled in game one, but came alive in game two with Joaby Sikes' pair of doubles and Brandon Crook's two hits.  DJ Article

(4/26) Mineral Area earns sweep with a pair of wins over McKendree JV: 8-1 & 12-7. James Huff and Michael Hardin notched wins on the mound, while Joaby Sikes 3-5, 2 RBIs, Seth Kimrey 2-3, 3 RBIs, and Ryan Blankenship with a Grand Slam were the offense stars.  DJ

(4/22) MAC's offense begins to click with split against St. Charles: 16-0 & 6-8. Luke Holland earned a blow-out win, while Ryan Hilton suffered a loss on the hill. Offensive leaders for the day were Tony Spencer 4-4, 4 RBI, 2 2B, Sean Bard 3-7, 2 HR, 4 RBI, Ryan Blankenship 4-7, 5 RBI.

(3/8)  The Cardinals drop a pair to John A. Logan: 9-3, 8-7.  Mineral Area slipped to 2-6 on the season with the losses to the Volunteers.   Andy Moss got the loss in game one, while Michael Hardin suffered the game two set-back. Leaders for the day were Tyler Stahl 2-7, 3 RBI's, Sean Bard 2-6, 2 2B, 2 RBI's, Aaron Miller 3-7, 3 RBI's.

(3/1)  Mineral Area drops a pair of Games to Kaskaskia: 1-6, 3-10. Michael Hardin took the loss in Game 1 and Ryan Blankenship took the loss in Game 2. Leaders on the day were Anthony Patton 2-4, Garrett Hulsey 1-2 with a RBI 2B, Tony Spencer and Joaby Sikes were both 2-7.  This move the Cards to 2-4 on the young season.

(2/27) Cards silt a pair of games with Warriors from Rend Lake. The Cards dropped Game 1 in extra innings 9-8, and win night-cap 4-2. Ryan Hilton took the loss, while Andy Moss got a complete Game win in Game 2. Leaders were Ryan Blankenship 3-7, 2 RBI's, HR, Seth Kimrey was 2-3, RBI. This moves MAC to 2-2 on the year.

(2/24) MAC Baseball Spilt a pair of games with SWIC. The Cards won 13-1and dropped game two 10-6. Michael Hardin got the win pitching a Complete Game 1 hitter. Jeff Scott took the loss in Game 2. Leaders for the day were Tyler Stahl 5-7, 3 RBI's, Joaby Sikes 4-6, 3 RBI's, Home Run, Ryan Blankenship and Anthony Patton each had a Home Run in Game 2.

(10/10)  Cards working out kinks in fall season, looking for hitting to improve by spring.  The MAC baseball team has shown solid defense, good pitching, but needs improved offense to make a conference and regional championship run in 2006.

(9/22)  Graviett & Holland named to NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-Americans.   Trey Graviett and Matthew Holland earned a GPA of 3.8-4.0 during he 2004-05 season.

Mineral Area Colllege Summer Baseball Camp at the Farmington Sports Complex July 11-15. Jim Gerwitz (MAC Head Coach), Colin Hedrick (MAC Assistant Coach), and MAC Cardinal players will be running and instructional baseball camp for players from 5 to 15 years old.  The Camp runs from 9:30am to 12:00 noon for the entire week of July 11-15.  Contact Jim Gerwitz at 573.518.2224 for additional information or to register.  The camp cost is $60.

MAC Baseball will hold open try-outs for the 2005-2006 season on June 24, 2005 at 9:00am at Mineral area College. Please listen to KTJJ 98.5 for any weather related cancellations.

(5/9)  MAC drops two heart-breakers to Crowder.  The Cards played well on Saturday, but dropped two tough one-run games, 4-3 and 2-1.  The Cardinals are 24-25 overall, 16-8 in the MCCAC and 13-11 in Region 16 play.

(5/4)  MAC Cards split a pair of games with Meramec W 7-0, L 8-5. Michael Hardin got the win pitching a Complete Game 1 hit Shut-out.  Jeff Scott took the loss in Game 2. Leaders for the Cards on the day were Kenny Pikula 4-8, 2 RBI's, 3 Doubles, Scott Hubbard 2-6, 4 RBI's, 2 Doubles. (4/24)   MAC Baseball takes two out three Games from Jefferson. The Cards beat the Vikings 5-2 and 1-0.  The Cards dropped game three 8-3 behind Blake Jones.  Leaders on the day were Ryan Becker 3-8, 2 RBI's, HR, Kenny Pikula 2-6, 2 RBI's, HR. (4/23)   MAC Cards sweep a pair from Flo Valley 13-5 & 7-6. Luke Holland and Kyle Tesreau earned wins over the Norsemen. Leaders for the Cards on the day were, Kenny Pikula 5-9, 3 RBI's, HR, Marty Clements 2-4, 4 RBIs, 2 HRs. The Cards are now 21-21 on the season and 13-6 in MCCAC.

(4/22)   MAC Baseball sweep a pair from St. Charles 1-0 & 7-2. Michael Hardin and Drew Horrell earned wins. This moves the Cards to 19-21 on the season and 11-6 in MCCAC.

(4/20)   MAC Cards split with MCCAC and Region rival Three Rivers. The Cards dropped game one behind Jeff Scott 5-1, but rallied to win game two 7-3 behind Blake Jones.  Leaders on the day were Tyler Stahl 2-7, 3 RBI's, Ryan Dickerman 3-7, 3 Runs.  This moves the Cards to 17-21 overall and 9-6 in MCCAC. (4/17)  Cards winning ways snapped by Jefferson, Forest Park, and Crowder.  MAC lost to Jefferson 8-4 and was winning a weather suspended game 3-2 (will be made up at Jefferson on 4/24).  The Cards had trouble pushing across runners in scoring position against Forest Park and dropped two games 5-4 & 8-5.  Crowder swept MAC 5-1 and 11-1 on Friday. 

(4/11)  MAC Baseball sweep two from Meremac by the score of 6-5 & 3-0. Michael Hardin earned a win in the first game and Drew Horrell pitched a complete game Shutout in game 2. Leaders for the Cards on the day were Ryan Becker 4-6, double, Michael Hall 2-4, 3 RBI's, Ryan Hoffman 2-3, RBI. This moves the Cards to 16-15 (8-2 MCCAC). DJ Article

(4/8) MAC Baseball sweeps two from Florissant Valley by the scores of 13-3 & 12-3.  Blake Jones and Jeff Scott got plenty of run support in earning wins.  Leaders for the Cards were Michael Hall 2-5, 2 HR's, RBI's, Tyler Stahl 5-9, 6 RBI's, Ryan Hoffman 2-4, HR, 4 RBI's. This moves the Cards to 14-15 on the Season and 6-2 in the MCCAC Conference.

(4/3)  MAC split a double header with Maplewoods.  The Cards won 3 of 4 Region 16 contests this week-end with the split.   The Cards opened with an 11-10 win, but dropped game 2 10-6.

(3/28)  Matt Holland will play at Bethany College next season.  Holland is the first MAC player to ink his future this spring.  Holland (Ste. Genevieve) is a sophomore pitcher at MAC, and will take the hill at Bethany College, an NAIA school in Lindsborg, Kansas.

(3/21) Cardinals streak extends to 3 with a win over Muscatine 16-6. Trey Graviett notched the win for the birds.  Leaders at the plate for the Cards were Sean Bard 3-4, 6 RBI's and 2 Doubles, Ryan Dickerman 4-4, 3 RBI's and 3 Runs, Tyler Stahl 3-5, RBI, and Marty Clements 2-5, 2 RBI's.  DJ Article

(3/20) MAC Baseball Sweeps a double-header from Muscatine (IA) 8-1 and 6-2.  Drew Horrell and Shayn Mabury earned wins in the sweep.  Leaders on the day for the Cards Ryan Dickerman 2-4, Ryan Hoffman 2-4, RBI, Scott Hubbard 2-6, 2 RBIs, and Aaron Miller 3-3, RBI. (3/15)  Cards pile up runs on spring trip to Mississippi, but start off the trip 1-3.  MAC scored 11 runs in the first three innings vs. East Mississippi CC, but dropped game 13-12.  The Cards dropped game two 8-1 to host Copiah-Lincoln (MS).  Day two of the trip was to Johnson County (MS) CC, where the Cards earned a spilt 11-3, and 0-10.  DJ Article

(3/7)  MAC Baseball dropped a pair to Maplewoods CC on Saturday.  The Cards lost Game 1 by the score of 21-10 and Game 2 by the score of 7-1. (3/4) Cardinals spilt a pair of games with Blue-Devils from Kaskaskia. MAC lost Game 1 by the Score of 2-0, but bounced back by winning Game 2 in a nailbiter, 6-5. The Cards Scored 2 Runs in the 4th inning to earn the split. This moves the Cards record to 3-1 in the spring. Leaders for the Cards were Sean Bard 2-3 with 3 RBI's and 2 Doubles, Ryan Becker was 2-4 with 1 RBI and 2 Runs Scored, Tyler Stahl was 2-5 with 1 RBI and double. Jeff Scott took the loss in Game 1, but pitched a great game. Shayn Mabury got the win in Game 2, with Matt Holland earning the Save.

(2/28) MAC Baseball sweeps double-header from Rend Lake to kick off their season and Homecoming festivities.  The Cards earned 5-3 and 3-0 victories over the visiting Warriors to start out 2-0.   Leaders for the Cards on the day were Marty Clements 4-6 with 2 RBI's, 2 Stolen Bases and 2 Runs Scored, Ryan Dickerman 3-5 with 2 RBI's, 2 Runs Scored, and Tyler Stahl 3-7 with 2 RBI's. Blake Jones pitched 5 2/3 Innings, allowing only 2 earned run on 6 hits, while striking out two batters in the game 1 win. Matt Holland pitched the last inning and allowed no hits for the save. Michael Hardin pitched six innings, allowing no runs on 5 hits, while striking out 3 batters in the game 2 win. Jeff Scott got the save, striking out two batters.  DJ Article

(1/16)  Cardinal's Baseball team gains commitments from three players for the 2005-06 season.  Anthony Patton, a solid short-stop with some pitching potential from South Pemiscot, inked this week.  A pair of Licking High stars also join the fold in lefty hurler James Huff and solid outfielder Seth Kimrey.  Link to Patton Article

(10/08) MAC Baseball won a pair of games from Three Rivers. The Score of Game 1 was 4-3 and the score of Game 2 was 12-2.  The speep of local rival TRCC moves the Cards record to 8-6 in the fall.  Leaders for the Cards on the day were Ryan Becker was 4-6 with 5 RBI’s on the day, Marty Clements was 3-6 with 2 RBI’s, Sean Bard was 2-2 with 2 RBI’s and 3 Runs Scored, Brandon Crook was 2-3 with a RBI. The entire Pitching Staff did a great job only giving up 3 earned runs on the day.

(9/27) MAC Baseball spilt a pair of games with John A. Logan on Saturday. MAC lost game 1 by the score of 15-2 and bounced bacy by winning Game 2 in a nailbiter, 11-10. The Cards scored 8 Runs in the 6th and 2 more in the 7th to earn the split. This moves the Cards record to 6-4 in the fall.  Leaders for the Cards were Ryan Becker was 4-6 with the game winning RBI in Game 2, Marty Clements was 3-5 with 2 RBI’s, Ryan Hoffman was 2-4 with a run scored, Brandon Granger was 1-3 with a leadoff triple in the 7th inning to get the Cards stared, Drew Horrell was 2-3 with 2 RBI’s and Shayn Mabury pitched 3 outstanding Innings in Game 2.

(9/18) MAC Baseball won a pair of games from SIUE Club Team. The Score of Game 1 was 9-5 and the score of Game 2 was 15-2.  This moves the Cards record to 4-2 in the fall.  Leaders for the Cards on the day were Ryan Dickerman was 2-2 with 3 walks and a Stolen Base, Sean Bard was 2-4 with a 3 run Home Run in game 2, Tyler Stahl was 3-4 on the day with 3 runs scored and 3 RBI's, Drew Horrell was the starting pitcher for game 2 and pitched 3 shutout Innings giving up only 1 hit.

(8/31) MAC Baseball Releases 2005 Roster and 2005 Spring Schedule.  The second season under Head Coach and MAC Alumni, Jim Gerwitz, promises to be an improvement from last season.  The Cardinals are currently playing a fall schedule, and have released their current roster and 2005 Spring Schedule on the New MAC Baseball web-site.
