Cardinals Sports Camps
Mineral Area College provides a variety of camps and clinics for volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball, and cheerleading. Most of these camps are held during the summer and provide a great educational opportunity for local youth. These camps and clinics are designed to teach the fundamentals of the activity, provide top-notch instruction, provide an opportunity for competition, and most of all, be FUN!

Basketball Camps & Summer League:
Mineral Area College Women's Basketball Camp June 12-14 (2012). Mineral Area College Women's Basketball Camp June 12-14 (2012). The Mineral Area College Women's Basketball staff will be conducting a three-day summer instructional camp. Gary Koch's Instructional Basketball Camp is scheduled for June 12-14 (Tue-Thu) at Mineral Area College. The Camp is for boys & girls and will concentrate on shooting, ball handling, passing, footwork, and strategy. There are three sessions: 9:00am-11:00am for 5th & 6th grades ($50), 11:30am-1:30pm for 7th & 8th grades ($50), and 2:00pm-4:00pm for 9th -12th graders ($50) Information and Questions, please call (573) 518-2259.

The MAC Cardinals Basketball Academy (MBA) for boys is slated for July 18-21 (2011). The camp is for boys in 2nd-12th grade, and designed for all skill levels. This is an all day camp focused on individual fundamental skill development and runs from 9:00am - 2:00pm. The cost is $140 and lunch is provided daily. Each camper will recieve a camp T-shirt, an Individualized Progress Report, Awards, Season Passes to MAC Basketball games, and an opportunity to develop and improve basketball skills daily. There is an awards Banquet and Pool party on the final day of camp. The camp is directed by MAC Men's Basketball Coach Corey Tate and will feature current players and other local coaches. Baseball Camp:
Mineral Area College Summer Baseball Camp at the Farmington Sports Complex TBA. Jim Gerwitz (MAC Head Coach), and MAC Cardinal players and coaches will be running and instructional baseball camp for players from 6 to 16 years old. The Camp runs from 9:30am to 12:00 noon for the entire week. Contact Jim Gerwitz at 573.518.2224 for additional information or to register. The camp cost is $60.
Volleyball Camps & Summer League:
Mineral Area Volleyball 2012 camp information and dates:
1. SUMMER LEAGUE: (JV and Varsity) this league will run 6 weeks for a cost of $150 per team. The league will run on Monday nights starting June 4-July 16. Enroll early – I predict this will fill up quickly.
2. SUMMER LEAGUE JR HIGH: This league will run 6 weeks for a cost of $150 per team. The league will run on Tuesday nights starting June 5- July 17. Enroll early!
3. INDIVIDUAL CAMP: The basic fundamentals of the game will be drilled. The age divisions will be divided into grades 5-6, 7-8, and 9-12. The coaching staff will include my assistant coaches and players to keep the player-coach ratio low. The cost will be $60 for 8 hours of instruction. You will receive a t-shirt at this camp. The camp will be June 4-7. Times will be for entering grades: 5th and 6th- 8am to 10am; 7th and 8th- 10am to 12pm; and 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th -1pm to 3pm. All forms must be turned in by June 1st.
4. Setter/Hitter Clinic: One on one instruction from the MAC staff specifically for setters and hitters. The cost is $50 and the camp will run from 10am-12pm and 1-3pm for 6th, 7th and 8th grades on June 11th. You will also be receiving a t-shirt. You can bring a lunch or leave during the hour off. There won’t be concessions available. . All forms must be turned in by June 6th.
5. TEAM CAMP: 1 day of tournament play. This camp will cost $100 and will run on July 21st. There will be a JV and Varsity division. The first place team in each division will receive a camp champ shirt. 10 team limit so register early.
Softball Camp:
Mineral Area Softball 2011 camp information and dates:
The women's softball team will host a 4 day camp on June 27-30th. The instruction will be provided by Mineral Area coaches, players and former players. The cost is $50 or if you bring 10 or more the price is reduced to $30. Please contact MAC assistant softball coach Matt Guemmer for more information. Mineral Area softball is coming off its 3rd consecutive Region XVI title along with its 2nd World Series appearance in the the last 3 years.
