Cardinals Sports Camps

Mineral Area College provides a variety of camps and clinics for volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball, and cheerleading.  Most of these camps are held during the summer and provide a great educational opportunity for local youth.  These camps and clinics are designed to teach the fundamentals of the activity, provide top-notch instruction, provide an opportunity for competition, and most of all, be FUN!

Basketball Camps & Summer League:

Mineral Area College will host the Corey Tate Basketball Camp June 25-28 (2007).  The Corey Tate Basketball Camp is open to boys and girls 2nd -12th grade. This camp will focus on the basketball fundamentals of shooting, rebounding, and dribbling, as well as team concepts.  Coach Tate's camp will feature current and future MAC Cardinals.   The cost of this individual camp is $75 per camper. Mineral Area College Women's Basketball Camp June 17-20 (2008).  The Mineral Area College Women's Basketball staff will be conducting a four-day summer instructional camp. Gary Koch's Instructional Basketball Camp is scheduled for June 17-20 (Tue-Fri) at Mineral Area College.  The Camp is for boys & girls and will concentrate on shooting, ball handling, passing, footwork, and strategy.  There are three sessions: 9:00am-11:00am for 5th & 6th grades ($35), 11:30am-1:30pm for 7th & 8th grades ($45), and 2:00pm-4:00pm for 9th -12th graders ($45)  Information and Questions, please call (573) 518-2259.  Download Camp Flyer   gkoch@mineralarea.edu 

The MAC Cardinals Basketball Academy (MBA) for boys and girls is slated for July 14-17 (2008).  The camp is for boys and girls in 2nd-12th grade of all skill levels.  This is an all day camp focused on individual fundamental skill development and runs from 9:00am - 3:00pm.  The cost is $140 and lunch is provided daily.  Each camper will recieve a camp T-shirt, an Individualized Progress Report, Awards, Season Passes to MAC Basketball games, and an opportunity to develop and improve basketball skills daily.  There is an awards Banquet and Pool party on the final day of camp.  The camp is directed by MAC Assistant Men's Basketball Coach Chad Kish (573-518-2104 or ckish@mineralarea.edu) and will feature current players and other local coaches.  There were over 60 campers at this event last year, registration is limited, so apply early.   Camp Details    Camp Flyer

Baseball Camp:

Mineral Area College Summer Baseball Camp at the Farmington Sports Complex June 18-23 (2007).  Jim Gerwitz (MAC Head Coach), and MAC Cardinal players and coaches will be running and instructional baseball camp for players from 6 to 16 years old.  The Camp runs from 9:30am to 12:00 noon for the entire week of June 18-23.  Contact Jim Gerwitz at 573.518.2224 for additional information or to register.  The camp cost is $60.

Volleyball Camps & Summer League:

Mineral Area College Cardinals Individual Volleyball Camp June 2-5 (2008).  The camp will be run by Head Coach Tim Copeland, his coaching staff and current and former players.  Each camper will recieve individualized instruction, a camp T-shirt, and learn the basic fundamentals and techniques of volleyball.  The camp cost is $60 and is for players in grades 5-12.  There will be a low coach-to-player ratio for increased individual attention.  Each Camper will recieve a T-Shirt.   The camp will run for 4 days, and each level will have a two hour session per day: 5th & 6th grade (9-11:00am) 7th-8th grades (1:00pm-3:00pm) and 9th-12th grades (3-5:00pm).  Contact Tim Copeland at 573.518.2231 or Ashley Smith at aesmith@mineralarea.edu for additional volleyball camp information or to register.  Camp Info

Mineral Area College Volleyball Team Camp is set for July 19th (2008).  The MAC Volleyball Team Camp is for Varsity and JV teams and is tournament-style play.  The camp cost is $100.  Each camper will recieve a camp T-Shirt.  There is a 10 team limit so call and RSVP as soon as possible.  Contact Tim Copeland at 573.518.2231 or Ashley Smith at aesmith@mineralarea.edu for additional volleyball camp information or to register.
