(3/29/17)  Sophomore Zac Cuthbertson named Region 16 Player of the Year.  Zac Cuthbertson (Pleasant Hill, North Carolina) was named the Region 16 Player of the Year for 2016-2017.   The versatile forward averaged 14.5 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game.  He has committed to The University of North Carolina-Wilmington for next year. 

(3/20/17)  Five Cardinals garner post-season honors.  The men had an outstanding season narrowly missing out a bid to the NJCAA National Tournament.  They finished the season 28-3.  They were fueled by some outstanding sophomores who were named to the MCCAC All-Conference and NJCAA All-Region teams listed below.

(3/6/17)  Three Rivers defeats Mineral Area in Region 16 Tournament.  The MAC men’s basketball team traveled to Jefferson City, MO to take on #3 seeded Three Rivers CC in a Region 16 tournament semi-final game on Friday, February 10th.  The Cardinals were defeated by the Raiders 71-70.  The Cardinals finish the regular season 28-3 overall and ranked #9 in the nation. 

The MAC men’s basketball team will now have to wait to see if they receive one of four at large bid from the NJCAA Men’s Basketball Committee.

(2/27/27)  Cardinals to play Three Rivers in first round of Region 16 Tournament.  The MAC men’s basketball team was able to defeat Central Methodist University at home by a score of 95-50 on Wednesday, February 22nd.  The Cardinals also hosted State Fair CC on Saturday, February 25th as part of MAC’s 2017 Homecoming.  The Cardinals defeated the State Fair Roadrunners by a score of 79-68.  The Cardinals finish the regular season 28-2 overall, 8-2 in MCCAC play and 6-2 in Region 16 play.  They are also ranked #11 in the latest NJCAA poll. 

They will compete in the Region 16 Basketball Tournament March 3rd – 4th in Jefferson City, MO. (2/21/17)  Three Rivers defeats MAC in rematch. The men’s basketball team hosted Three Rivers CC on Saturday, February 18th.  The Cardinals fell to the Raiders by a score of 70-68.  The Cardinals are now 26-2 overall, 7-2 in MCCAC play and 5-2 in Region 16 play.  They are also ranked #7 in the latest NJCAA poll.

(2/16/17)  MAC gets win over St. Louis.  Mineral Area came away with a 66-51 victory last night in St. Louis over the Archers.  With the win, MAC is now 26-1 and currently ranked 7th in the latest NJCAA poll.  MAC will play at home on Saturday against Three Rivers at 7:00 p.m.

(2/13/17)  Cards improve to 25-1.  The MAC men’s basketball team traveled to Paducah, KY to take on West Kentucky Tech on Wednesday, February 8th.  The Cardinals came away with a 107-70 win against the Stars.  The men’s basketball team is now 25-1 overall, 6-1 in MCCAC play and 5-1 in Region 16 play.  They are also ranked #8 in the latest NJCAA poll. 

The MAC men’s basketball team will travel to St. Louis, MO to take on St. Louis CC on Wednesday, February 15th at 7:00pm.  The Cardinals will also host Three Rivers CC on Saturday, February 18th at 7:00pm.

(2/6/17)  Moberly defeats MAC in rematch. The men’s basketball team traveled to Moberly, MO to take on Moberly Area CC on Saturday, February 4th.  The Cardinals fell to the Greyhounds by a score of 63-58.  The men’s basketball team is now 24-1 overall, 6-1 in MCCAC play and 5-1 in Region 16 play.  They are also ranked #4 in the latest NJCAA poll.

(2/2/17)  MAC wins again, now 24-0.  The Cardinals defeated MSU-West Plains last night at home, by the score of 97-62. Zac Cuthbertson had 27 points and Devin Thomas added 24 for Mineral Area who improved to 5-0 in the region. 

Next up for MAC is a highly anticipated rematch againt Moberly on Saturday.  The Cardinals will travel to Moberly to play the Greyhounds on Saturday night, at 7:00 p.m.

(1/31/17)  Cardinals now ranked #4 in NJCAA national poll.  The men's basketball team moved up one spot to 4th overall in the latest NJCAA Division I national rankings.  The Cardinals just defeated State Fair on Saturday night by the score of 72-53 victory to remain unbeaten.  The men’s basketball team is now 23-0 overall, 5-0 in MCCAC play and 4-0 in Region 16 play.

(1/27/17)  Mineral Area now 22-0 after win against St. Louis Community College.  MAC defeated the St. Louis Community College Archers last night by the score of 82-57.  They remain undefeated with a #5 ranking in the most recent NJCAA Poll.  The Cardinals will take on State Fair on Saturday, in Sedalia, MO at 7:00 p.m.

(1/22/17)  MAC defeats Moberly in battle of unbeaten, top 10 NJCAA programs.  The Cardinals improved to 21-0 in front of a packed Bob Sechrest Field House on Saturday night.  Mineral Area defeated Moberly by the score of 66-58.

(1/17/17)  Cardinals now 19-0 after road win at West Plains.  MAC traveled to West Plains last night and defeated the Grizzlies 91-88 in overtime.  MAC will play Faith Prep on Wednesday at home, before playing #4 Moberly on Saturday at the Bob Sechrest Field House.

(1/16/17)  West Plains game rescheduled.  Due to the inclement weather, the men's basketball game at MSU-West Plains on Saturday, January 14th has been rescheduled for Monday, January 16th at 7:00pm in West Plains, MO.  

(1/9/17)  Cardinals defeat Three Rivers in Poplar Bluff.  MAC went on the road Saturday night to grab its biggest win of the year.  The Cardinals defeated the Three Rivers Raiders in overtime by the score of 80-78.  Mineral Area stays undefeated at 17-0 and is now 1-0 in the Region 16 and MCCAC. 

Mineral Area will now play against Missouri Baptist at home, on Wednesday at 7:00.

(12/13/16)  MAC improves to 15-0 with win over SWIC. The Cardinals defeated the Blue Storm from Southwestern Illinois last night by the score of 71-53.  Earlier in week the team played host to Lincoln College on Wednesday, December 9th.  The Cardinals defeated Lincoln by a score of 93-67.  The team then took on Kankakee CC on Saturday, December 10th as part of the St. Francois County Rotary Shootout.  The Cardinals defeated Kankakee by a score of 84-64.  The men’s basketball team is now 15-0 on the season and ranked #8 in the nation.

(12/7/16)  Cardinals move up #8 in latest NJCAA national poll.  MAC is now ranked 8th in the nation in the first NJCAA regular-season men's basketball poll.  They will play against Lincoln College tonight at 7:00, at the Bob Sechrest Field House.

(12/6/16)  MAC defeats SWIC and Lewis & Clark; Rotary Shootout this weekend. 

The MAC men’s basketball team traveled to Belleville, IL to take on Southwestern Illinois College on Monday, November 28th.  The Cardinals defeated SWIC by a score to 73-53.  The team then traveled to St. Louis to take on Lewis and Clark CC as part of the St. Louis Showcase.  The Cardinals were able to defeat Lewis and Clark by a score of 64-59.  The men’s basketball team is now 12-0 on the season and ranked #20 in the nation. 

The MAC men’s basketball team will host Lincoln College on Wednesday, December 7th at 7:00pm.  They will then take on Kankakee CC at 8:00pm on Saturday, December 10th as part of the annual St. Francois County Rotary Shootout.  The complete schedule for this year’s Rotary Shootout can be found below.

(11/28/16)  Cardinals go 2-0 in Chris Morrison State Farm Classic. The Cardinals hosted the Chris Morrison State Farm Classic on Friday, November 25th and Saturday, November 26th.  On Friday, they came away with a 98-83 win against NE Nebraska CC.  On Saturday, the Cardinals were able to defeat Ft. Scott CC by a score of 85-51.  Proceeds from the Chris Morrison State Farm Classic went to Vision of Hope in Farmington.  The basketball team is currently 10-0 and ranked #20 in the nation.

(11/23/16)  MAC defeats West Kentucky Tech, improves to 8-0.  The MAC men's baketball team defeated West Kentucky Tech last night by the score of 91-64.  Zac Cuthbertson had 27 points for the Cards. 

This week, the Cardinals play in the Chris Morrison State Farm Classic on Friday and Saturday.  They will play Norheast Nebraska at 7:00 on Friday and Fort Scott at 5:00 on Saturday.

(11/21/16)  Cardinals are now 7-0 on the season. The MAC men’s basketball team traveled to Chicago, IL and defeated Kennedy King by a score of 82-59 on Tuesday, November 15th.  The Cardinals then hosted the annual Bob Sechrest Classic on Friday, November 18th and Saturday, November 19th.  Our men defeated Southeastern Illinois College 93-63 on Friday and Carl Sandburg College 78-32 on Saturday.  The Cardinals now have a 7-0 record.

MAC will host West Kentucky Tech on Tuesday November 22nd at 7:00pm.  They will then host the Chris Morrison State Farm Classic on Friday, November 25th and Saturday, November 26th.  On Friday, the Cardinals will take on Northeast Nebraska CC at 7:00pm.  On Saturday, the Cardinals will take on Ft. (11/16/16)  Cardinals go on the road to defeat Kennedy King.  Mineral Area traveled to Chicago yesterday to play a road game against Kennedy King. MAC won the game by the score of 82-59.

(11/14/16) MAC defeats Lewis and Clark in home contest.  On Saturday, November 12th, the Cardinals hosted and defeated Lewis and Clark CC by a score of 84-64.  The Cardinals now have a 4-0 record to start the season.

(11/9/16)  Four MAC sophomores sign with NCAA Division I schools.   Devin Thomas, Lamar Morgan, Zac Cuthbertson and Darius Thompson signed their letter of intents today. 

Devin has agreed to go to Indiana State University.  Indiana State is located in Dekalb, Illinois and is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference.  Lamar will play at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland.  The Eagles are a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. 

Darius Thompson will head to the University of Tennessee-Martin.  UT-Martin is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference and located in Martin, Tennessee.  Zac Cuthbertson signed with the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.  UNC-Wilmington is in the Colonial Athletic Conference and is located in Wilmington, North Carolina. 

MAC is currently 3-0 on the season and will play Lewis & Clark on Saturday.  Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Bob Sechrest Field House.

(11/8/16)  Game with SWIC postponed.  The men's basketball game scheduled for tomorrow against Southwestern Illinois College has been canceled.  It has been rescheduled for Monday, December 12th at 7:00pm at home.

(11/7/16)  MAC goes 2-0 over the weekend. The MAC men’s basketball team traveled to Poplar Bluff, MO to participate in the Three Rivers Classic on Friday, November 4th and Saturday, November 5th.  On Friday, the Cardinals defeated North Lake CC 80-66 and on Saturday, they defeated Link Year Prep by a score of 103-76.  The Cardinals begin their season with a 3-0 record.

(11/3/16)  Cardinals win home opener.  Mineral Area defeated Link Year Prep Academy 93-73 on Tuesday night to start the season with a victory.  Zac Cuthbertson lead Mineral Area with 15 points and 13 rebounds.  MAC will travel to Poplar Bluff, MO this weekend to take part in the Three Rivers Tip-Off Classic.

(10/31/16) Regular season starts tomorrow.  The MAC men’s basketball team will open up their regular season this week.  On Tuesday, November 1st, they will host Link Year Prep at 7:00pm.  They then travel to Poplar Bluff, MO to participate in the Three Rivers Classic on Friday, November 4th and Saturday, November 5th.  On Friday, the Cardinals will take on North Lake College at 5:00pm and on Saturday, they will take on Link Year Prep at 5:00pm.  The MAC men’s basketball team finished the 2015-2016 season with a record of 25-6 and a final NJCAA ranking of #18.  For the complete Three Rivers Classic schedule, please click here.
