(5/27/15)  Former Cardinal Lance Fields participating in NCAA Division II World Series.  Former MAC outfielder Lance Fields is having a successful career for a very good Henderson State team.  Henderson Sate (32-20) is currently participating in the NCAA Division II World Series, in Cary, North Carolina. Lance is currently slashing .318/.399/.467 with  4 home runs, 29 rbi's and 12 stolen bases.  Henderson State plays an elimination game today against Angelo State.

(5/15/15)  Summer Camp information released. MAC Assistant Coach Mike Overman has released information about the Cardinal's annual summer camp.  Here are the highlights:

July 21st-24th (Tuesday - Friday)

Cost: $65 per camper

Ages: 5-15

Time: 9:00 A.M – 12:00 P.M. Daily

Location: Farmington Sports Complex

What to bring: Glove, bat, cleats and catchers gear if applicable.

(5/15/15)  Open tryout to be held in June.  The MAC baseball team will hold an open tryout for all prospective baseball players at Hal Loughary Field, on Wednesday, June 10th, at 3:30.

(5/4/15)  Cardinals earn #3 seed in Region 16 Tournament.  MAC will play #6 Three Rivers Wednesday at Wilson Rozier Park in Farmington.  The game will start at 1:00.

(4/29/15)  Cardinals end regular season with split.  MAC won one of two games yesterday against Wabash Valley.  The Cardinals won the first game 3-2 and lost the second game 11-1.  Wabash Valley was ranked #10 in the NJCAA Pre-Season Poll. 

Mineral Area finishes the season at 24-23.  They were 9-7 in the MCCAC and 16-12 in Region 16.  Up next for the Cardinals is the Region 16 Tournament.  They will not know their seed until after the weekend as some teams are finishing up Region 16 games.  The tournament games will played at Wilson Rozier Park in Farmington, Missouri. 

(4/27/15) Cardinals split series with North Central. MAC visited North Central College in Trenton, MO over the weekend.  The Cardinals split the four game series winning 8-4, losing 6-5, losing 4-3 and winning 15-7.  The MAC Cardinal Baseball team now has a record of 23-22 on the season and finished 16-12 in Region 16 play.

(4/22/15)  Christian Thrasher to play for Cards. Left-handed pitcher Christian Thrasher from Macon, MO will join the Mineral Area Baseball team for the 2015-16 season. (4/22/15)  Brandon Holland to play for MAC.  Louisana High School product Brandon Holland will play for the Mineral Area baseball team this upcoming year.  Brandon is a right-handed picture.  Pictured in the Photo is Brandon Holland with his family, along side Assistant MAC Coach Garrett Wiggans and Louisiana Head Baseball Coach Ryan Griffin.

(4/22/15) Cardinals sweep St. Charles on the road.  MAC won two games yesterday over the St. Charles Cougars.  The Cardinals won the first game by the score of 2-1 and the second game by the score of 8-4.  Justin Murphy got the win in game 1 while Jeremy Rettig won game 2.  MAC now moves back over the .500 mark at 21-20 overall.  They are 14-10 in Region 16 play and 9-7 in the MCCAC. 

They will play a four game set with North Central, in Trenton, Missouri over the weekend.  They will finish their regular season against Wabash Valley, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois on Tuesday, the 28th.  Then, the Cardinals will participate in the Region 16 Tournament.  This year it will be in Farmington, Missouri, at Wilson Rozier Field.  MAC would currently be the #3 seed. 

(4/17/15)  Cardinals sweep St. Charles.  MAC won two games yesterday over the St. Charles Cougars.  The Cardinals won the first game by the score of 8-1.  Justin Murphy got the win.  In game 2, MAC won by the score of 6-0.  Trevor Huth threw a complete game. 

Mineral Area will now play St. Charles again this weekend.  The games will be Saturday, at St. Charles, starting at 1:00.

(4/8/15) Game with Jefferson College moved to Sunday.  The MAC Baseball games scheduled for today have been moved to Sunday, at home, at Noon. 

(4/7/15)  Game with Southeastern Illinois is postponed.  The MAC Baseball games scheduled for today have been postponed.  We will play Southeast Illinois on April 21st.

(4/6/15)  MAC takes 3 of 4 against nationally ranked Crowder. The Mineral Area College Baseball team traveled to Neosho, MO to take on nationally ranked Crowder on April 2-4.  The Cardinals won 3 out of 4 games over the Rough Riders.  MAC won with scores of 4-3, 9-5, and 11-8.  The Cardinals only loss in the series was the 2nd game in which MAC lost 12-3.  The MAC Cardinals now have a record of 17-16 on the season.  They are 10-6 in Region 16 and 5-3 in MCCAC Conference play.

(4/1/15)  Cardinals split with Southwestern Illinois.  MAC traveled to Belleville, Illinois yesterday and won one of two games with SWIC.  MAC won the first game by the score of 17-11 and lost the second game 15-8. Over the weekend MAC split a 4-game set with Three Rivers.  They won two games Saturday by the scores of 6-2 and 6-4 and lost two games Sunday by the scores of 7-6 and 5-4.  Mineral Area is now 14-15 overall, 7-5 in Region 16 and 5-3 in the MCCAC.  MAC plays an important 4-game set with Crowder starting tomorrow.

(3/23/15)  MAC splits with Maple Woods. The Cardinals wrapped up their week by playing Maple Woods in a four game series on Saturday and Sunday.  The Cardinals lost 6-5 and 10-2 on Saturday, and won 6-2 and 6-4 on Sunday.  The Mineral Area College Baseball team now has a record of 11-12 on the season.

(3/18/15)  Cardinals sweep Central Methodist JV.  The MAC baseball team improved to 9-8 yesterday with a doubleheader sweep over Central Methodist JV.  The Cardinals won the first game by score of 2-0 and the second game 10-0.  The Cards have now won 6 out of their last 7 games.  They will be back in action on Thursday, when they travel to Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to take on Williams Baptist JV.

(3/16/15)  MAC defeats St. Louis Community College in doubleheader sweep.  Mineral Area defeated the St. Louis Community College Archers yesterday by the scores of 4-2 and 8-6.  The Cardinals are now 6-7 overall and 2-0 in the MCCAC as well as Region 16.  They will play a home doubleheader against the Archers again, today, at 1:00 P.M.

(2/23/15)  Cardinals go 2-0 on Mississippi trip. The Mineral Area College Baseball team traveled to Poplarville, MS on Friday, February 20th to take on Southwest Tennessee and Pearl River.  The Cards defeated Southwest Tennessee by the score of 6-3.  MAC then beat Pearl River 11-2.  The Cards were scheduled to play Holmes Community College on Saturday, but the games were cancelled due to inclement weather.  The MAC Cardinals Baseball team now has a record of 3-6 on the season.

The MAC Cardinal Baseball team was scheduled to play two home games this week against John A. Logan and Southeast Illinois.  The games have been postponed due to inclement weather.

(2/19/15)  MAC heads south for four more games. The Cardinals will play in Poplarville, MS on Friday, February 20th.  The Cards will play Southwest Tennessee at 4:00 p.m. and Pearl River at 7:00 p.m.  The Cards will then play in Goodman, MS on Saturday, February 21st.  The Cardinals opponent will be Holmes Community College with a double header start time of noon on Saturday. 

The Mineral Area College Baseball team traveled to Millington, TN on Friday, February 13th and Saturday, February 14th.  MAC defeated Southwest Tennessee 9-6 and lost to #14 ranked Connors State 7-4.  The Cardinals wrapped up their trip losing to Dyersburg State 11-10.  The MAC Cardinals Baseball team now has a record of 1-6 on the season.

(2/12/15)  Alex Hanft signs at MAC. Alex has signed to further his education and play baseball at Mineral Area College. Alex Hanft is the 8th signee for MAC's 2015 recruiting class. According to MAC assistant coach Mike Overman Alex has a high celing, "Alex is a very athletic RHP that should develop nicely for us and have a large role on our staff.  He is already a powerful arm and should continue to add velocity moving forward."

(2/9/15)  Cardinals open up in Mississippi. The Mineral Area College Baseball team traveled to Mississippi over the weekend and played four games against the #2 ranked team in the country, Hinds Community College.  MAC lost all four games with scores of 10-3, 11-1, 7-4, and 5-2.  The MAC Cardinal Baseball team will travel to Millington, TN on Friday, February 13th and Saturday, February 14th.  The Cardinals will play against Southwest TN on Friday.  Game time begins at 5:00 p.m.  The Cardinals will play #14 ranked Connor State on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and Dyersburg State at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

(2/3/15) Mineral Area has opener moved up a day. The baseball team will play Friday/Saturday now because of the possibility of rain over the weekend in Mississippi.  The games will be played at 3:00 pm on Friday and 1:00 on Saturday against the same opponent.

(2/2/15) Cardinals open up this weekend. MAC baseball will open up their season this weekend as they travel to Raymond, Mississippi to take on Hinds Community College.  Hinds finished 2nd in the nation for the 2014 season.  They are preseason ranked 2nd in the nation for NJCAA Division 2 this season.  Saturday’s double header will begin at 1:00 p.m. and Sunday’s double header has an 11:00 a.m. start time.

(2/2/15)  MAC signs Tanner White from New Franklin.  The MAC coaching staff has been busy recruiting this offseason signing another player, this time a left-handed pitcher.  Tanner White has signed his NJCAA Letter of Intent to play baseball at MAC for the 2015-2016 season.  Below is Tanner with his family, coaches from New Franklin and MAC pitching coach Garrett Wiggans.



(2/2/15)  Cardinals sign Alex Roy from Bowling Green High School. The MAC Cardinals have signed Bowling Green Senior middle infielder Alex Roy for the 2015-2016 season. MAC Assistant Mike Overman and Bowling Green Assistant Bryan Keim. Assistant Coach Mike Overman state that Alex brings a lot to the Cardinals:  "We are excited to add Alex to our 2015 class. He is a very good athlete and is capable of playing multiple infield positions. He has a strong work ethic and will be a huge part of our program moving forward."

(2/2/15)Cardinals sign Nathan Gonz from Farmington HS
The MAC Cardinals baseball program has added another signee for the 2015-2016 season. Nathan Gonz in a RHP from Farmington. Assistant Coach Mike Overman says he expects Nathan to make an immediate impact: "Nathan is a big physical kid that has lots of potential and upside on the mound. He will be a great addition to our program and we expect him to make an immediate impact for us."

(1/26/15)  MAC Winter Showcase draws 124 prospective baseball players.  The Mineral Area baseball coaching staff hosted a winter showcase for high school baseball players looking to show off their skills for college coaches and professional scouts.  This year's showcase saw a total of 124 players show up for the event.   Below is a picture from the one-day event held at the St. Geneveive Community Center. 


(1/22/15)  Cardinals sign Logan Heisserer and Chase Urhahn from Cape-Notre Dame.  Mineral Area Baseball has signed two new additions for the 2015-16 season. Logan Heisserer and Chase Urhahn, both from Cape Notre Dame High School in Cape Girardeau. Pictured below is Logan and Chase with family, along side Coach Graviett from Notre Dame and Coach Wiggans from MAC. Coach Wiggans says, "Anytime we can get quality players from Cape Notre Dame High School its always a blessing." "We have had really good success with their athletes here at MAC."  MAC Baseball will open up their 2015 season February 7th in Mississippi against Hinds Community College.

(1/21/15)  MAC to host Winter Showcase.  The Cardinals coaching staff will host the event for the second year in a row.  Last year there were almost 100 kids and several college coaches in attendance.  Click on the above "Showcase and Results" tab for more information.

(1/20/15)  Cardinals start season in less than three weeks.  The MAC baseball team will open up in Raymond, Mississippi on February 7th against Hinds Community College.  MAC is coming off a 31-26 season where they advanced to the Region 16 championship game.


(10/22/14)  Cardinals complete instrasquad World Series.  Team Overman wins the Fall World Series over Team Wiggans 3 games to 1.  In game one Team Overman won 5-4.  Justin Murphy went 6 innings to get the win.  Team Wiggans won game two 4-1.  Jeremy Rettig got the win.  In game 3 Team Overman won 13-4.  Austin Campbell got the win on the mound.  Palmer and Luna both homer.  Team Overman won game four 5-3.  Evan Allison got the win going five innings.  Charlie Palmer was named the series MVP.  Fall season will finish up Saturday with our Alumni game.  Everyone is welcome to come out.

(9/29/14) Mark Your Calendar- MAC Baseball Alumni Game. The MAC Baseball Alumni game will be on Saturday, October 25th.  The current team will take batting practice at 11:00 a.m. and the Alumni will take batting practice at 11:40 a.m.  The MAC Cards will take pregame at 12:25 and the Alumni will take pregame at 12:35.  Game time will begin at 1:00 p.m.  There will be 1 single 9 inning game.  There will be plenty of food and drinks during the game.  There will be a social for the Alumni at Hubs Pub in Bonne Terre after the game.


(9/23/14)  MAC now 3-2 in fall scrimmages.  The baseball team is in in the middle of their fall season.  This past week they traveled to St. Louis on Thursday, September 18th to play St. Louis Community College.  MAC won the game 7-2.  The Cardinals returned to St. Louis on Saturday, September 20th to take on Southwestern Illinois and Rend Lake.  MAC defeated SWIC 2-0 and lost to Rend Lake 11-7.  MAC is coming off a successful season where they placed 2nd in the Region 16 Tournament.

(9/15/14)  Cardinals participating in fall season.  MAC is 1-1 in the fall season defeating Jackson State, Tennessee and losing to Drury University.  They will now will visit St. Louis Community College on Thursday, September 18th.  Game time was unavailable at the time of the press release.  The Cardinals will then travel to St. Louis on Saturday, September 20th to play Southwestern Illinois at 12:15 p.m. and Rend Lake at 2:30 p.m.
