(5/29/12)  Cardinals sign Jake Lowrimore LHP from  Montgomery, Texas.  The Cardinals added another pitcher for the 2012-2013 season.  They signed Jake Lowrimore from Montgomery High School in Montgomery, Texas.  Pictured below is Jake with his mom and staff from Montgomery High School.

(5/18/12) Three Cardinals named 1st team All-Region XVI.  Three members of the MAC baseball team received All-Region honors for the 2012 season.  The Cardinals receiving the honors were Jeff King, Tanner Glore, and Cody Garlington. 

(5/11/12)  Cardinals season ends in Region XVI Tournament.  The baseball team fell today to St. Louis Community College to end their season.  STLCC defeated MAC 10-0 to eliminate them from the Region XVI Tournament.  Mineral Area fell to Jefferson yesterday 8-1.Mineral Area ends its season 29-24.

(5/10/12)  MAC wins opening game of Region XVI Tournament.  The Mineral Area baseball team got its biggest win of the year knocking off the Three Rivers Raiders 12-10 on Wednesday in the opening round of the Region XVI Tournament.  MAC improves to 29-22 on the season.  All of the top 4 seeds (Jefferson, Crowder, Maple Woods, Mineral Area) won their games to advance to the next round in the double elimination tournament.  Next up for the Cardinals is a showdown with the top seed Jefferson College Vikings. Jefferson is currently the 8th ranked team in the nation in the latest NJCAA Division I junior college poll.

(5/8/12)  Cardinals have successful weekend against Maple Woods.  The baseball team concluded its regular season this past weekend up in Kansas City against Maple Woods Community College.  MAC won three out of four to move to 28-22 on the season.  Mineral Area swept the Monarchs on Friday by the scores of 5-2 and 11-6.  On Saturday the two teams split a doubleheader with Maple Woods winning the first one 2-0 and Mineral Area coming back to take the second game 11-10.Now the Cardinals prepare for the Region XVI Tournament in Joplin, MO.  MAC is the #4 seed and play the #5 seed Three Rivers on Wednesday morning at 10 AM.

(4/30/12)  Cardinals win single game against North Central.  The MAC baseball team one their first of two scheduled games on Sunday against North Central 3-0.  Dylan McEwin (Paris, TX) shined for MAC going 7 innings allowing no earned runs on just 3 hits.  The second game was canceled due to rain.  The Cardinals improve to 25-20 overall.  They will play their final home games of the year tomorrow against Rend Lake beginning at 1:00

(4/27/12)  MAC dominates doubleheader against St. Charles.  The Mineral Area baseball team had perhaps its best day yet this year on Thursday. With solid pitching backed by double digit run support in both games MAC defeated St. Charles 13-2 and 14-2. All that is left for the Cardinals is two more home doubleheaders with North Central and Rend Lake on Sunday and Tuesday followed by a weekend trip to Maple Woods.  MAC will then start post-season play in the Region XVI Tournament in Joplin, MO.

(4/25/12) Baseball signs Austin Martin from Camdenton, MO.  The baseball team is continuing to prepare for the next season with another signing.  This time, the Cardinals stayed in state to sign one of the top players from the Ozark Conference.

(4/23/12)  Cardinals split with Crowder in home doubleheader.  The MAC baseball team went up against one of the better teams in the Region XVI on Sunday and took one of two at Hal Loughary Field.  Mineral Area rallied late to win the first game 5-4 before dropping the second game 6-3 to the Crowder Roughriders. Mineral Area (22-18) will be down in Poplar Bluff to take on rival Three Rivers Tuesday to play a doubleheader. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.

(4/18/12)  Tanner Glore signs with NCAA Division I Western Illinois.   Mineral Area third-baseman Tanner Glore (Potosi, MO) has agreed to play for Western Illinois next year.  Tanner was a NJCAA All-Region XVI and MCCAC All-Conference performer as a freshman for the Cardinals last year. The Western Illinois Fighting Leathernecks are located in Macomb, Illinois and participate in the Summit League.

(4/18/12)  MAC loses two close games to #6 ranked Jefferson College.  The MAC baseball team gave Jeffco a good battle yesterday but fell short in both games by the scores of 5-3 and 6-4. Mineral Area will remain at home and play against St. Louis Community College tomorrow at 1:00 P.M.  Then, they will play against Crowder College at home on Sunday with a noon start

(4/16/12)  Cardinals get rained out against Maple Woods.  The baseball team had both doubleheaders with Maple Woods canceled this past weekend because of rain.  They will make both of these doubleheaders up on May 4th and 5th in Kansas City.  MAC will now play against Jefferson College in a home doubleheader tomorrow at Hal Loughary Field at 1:00.  The Vikings are currently 32-7 and the 6th ranked team in the latest NJCAA national poll.

(4/13/12)  Cardinals get two more MCCAC victories against Shawnee.  The MAC baseball team has won 5 games in a row to improve to 20-14.  Mineral Area defeated the Shawnee Saints by the scores of 3-1 and 12-7.  The Cardinals now travel to Kansas City, MO for a 4 game series against Maple Woods.

(4/11/12) Mineral Area bangs out 22 hits to complete sweep of St. Charles.The MAC baseball team got a very important MCCAC and Region XVI doubleheader sweep yesterday against the St. Charles Cougars. The Cardinals won the first game 3-2 and the second game 7-5 in 13 innings.  Coach Stan Walden is putting together a solid first season as head coach.  Mineral Area is 18-14 overall and is 7-5 in the Region and 6-4 in the MCCAC.  They will play a home doubleheader tomorrow against Shawnee at 1:00 pm

(4/9/12)  Cardinals split pair with Three Rivers.  The baseball team was in action on Friday against rival Three Rivers.  MAC lost the first game 6-5 but rebounded to come back and win the second game by the score of 10-6.  The Cardinals are now 16-14 overall.  They will play against St. Charles Community College tomorrow up in St. Charles in a pair of Region XVI and MCCAC contests.  Then, MAC will play a 4-game series against Maple Woods in Kansas City, MO over the weekend.  Currently Mineral Area is 4-4 in the MCCAC and 5-5 in Region XVI.

(4/4/12)  MAC claims two victories against St. Louis Community College.  The Mineral Area baseball team won two games over St. Louis Community College yesterday by the scores of 3-0 and 5-2.  Pitching was the story for the Cardinals in both games.  Jeff King had another superb performance throwing a complete game two-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks.  In the second game Chris Ostrowski allowed only one hit while striking out seven.  MAC jumps back over the .500 mark to improve to 15-13.  They are 4-4 in Region XVI and 3-3 in the MCCAC.  They will play Three Rivers at home tomorrow at 1:00 pm.

(3/30/12) Cardinals fall to Jefferson in Region XVI and MCCAC contests.  The MAC baseball team played against the Jefferson College Vikings yesterday in Hillsboro.  Mineral Area fell to the Vikings by the scores of 12-2 and 4-1 to drop to 13-13 on the season.  Mineral Area is now 1-3 in Region XVI play and 2-4 in the MCCAC. MAC will try and rebound on Tuesday against St. Louis Community College on Tuesday in St. Louis at 1:00

(3/26/12)  MAC goes 2-2 over the weekend.  The baseball team played against Missouri Valley JV on Friday at home.  They won both ends of the the doubleheader by the 10-run rule.  They won the first game 11-1 and in the second game Jeff King (Paris, TX) threw a no-hitter. The Cardinals then traveled south to Neosho, Missouri to play against Crowder College.  MAC lost both games to the Roughriders 10-8 and 13-2. Mineral Area is now 12-10 on the season and will play against Shawnee College in Illinois on Tuesday at 1:00.

(3/21/12)  Cardinals schedule doubleheader with Missouri Valley on Friday.  The MAC baseball team will play Missouri Valley JV at home on Friday at 1:00.  This game takes place of the originally scheduled game with Northeast Oklahoma.

(3/21/12)  Games with Illinois Central and Northeast Oklahoma canceled.  The MAC men's baseball team had a scheduled game canceled by Illinois Central today.  No make-up date has been announced.  This Friday the Cardinals were scheduled to play a home doubleheader with Northeast Oklahoma at 1:00.  Northeast Oklahoma has canceled this doubleheader as well.Up next for MAC is a Region XVI matchup down in Neosho against Crowder College on Sunday, March 25th.  The Cardinals are currently 10-8 on the season.

(3/19/12)  Mineral Area returns home from spring trip.  The MAC Cardinals baseball team just returned from its annual spring trip where they played against some very good competition.  The Cardinals went 2-5 overall.  They defeated Faulkner State in the first game 11-9 before losing the second game 13-1.  Then, they played against Enterprise State winning the first game 2-1 before losing the second game 6-1.  They then played against Jefferson Davis losing both games 7-2, 3-1 before ending their trip at Meridian, Mississippi where they fell 13-1.  Up next for MAC (10-8) is a doubleheader against Illinois Central College up in Peoria, Illinois on Wednesday at 1:00 pm.  The Cardinals will then play against nationally ranked Northeast Oklahoma on Friday at home at 1:00.

.(3/5/12)  Cardinals start off 2-0 on Region XVI.  The Mineral Area baseball team is off to a very good start this season.  They are now 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the Region after two home wins against North Central College on Saturday.  MAC has two home doubleheaders this week before they head south for their spring trip.  The Cardinals will play Dyersburg State and Lindenwood University on Tuesday and Thursday at home.  Both of these doubleheaders start at 1:00.

(2/29/12)  MAC mounts late inning comeback to stay undefeated.  The baseball team played in St. Louis yesterday against Fontbonne JV.  MAC was down late in the game by the score of 7-6 before Brad Ridings (Pattonville) led off the ninth inning with a solo blast to tie the game up at seven.  The next hitter in the lineup was Tanner Glore (Potosi).  The All-Region 3rd baseman connected for a homer of his own to put the Cards up for good by the score of 8-7.  Chris Ostrowski (Canton, Michigan) came in to strike out the side to give Mineral Area their third win in three attempts this Spring.  The Cardinals hope to continue their winning streak tomorrow down in Searcy, Arkansas when they travel to play Harding University

.(2/24/12) Cardinals pitchers shine in home opener.  The MAC baseball team officially started its season yesterday at Hal Loughary Field against Central Methodist.  MAC got solid pitching winning the first game 6-0 and the second game 12-2.  Dylan McEwin (Paris, Texas) threw a complete game shutout in the first game going 6 innings. McEwin threw 82 pitches. It was a two hitter with no walks and 6 strikeouts.
Jeff King (Paris, Texas) threw five innings the second game. He gave up two hits, two walks and 2 unearned runs with 6 strikeouts.  Wayde Roth (Valle, St. Genevieve) threw the last inning and struck out two of the three he faced.The Cardinals (2-0) go up to St. Louis next week to play against Fontbonne on Tuesday at 1:00.

(2/21/12)  Schedule change for home opener. The Mineral Area College baseball team will kick off their season this week.  There has been a schedule change for their season opener.  MAC will host Central Methodist on Thursday, February 23rd.  The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, February 25th.  The first game of the doubleheader is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.

(2/14/12) Cardinals sign Casey Willinbrink from Parkway South High School.  The Mineral Area coaching staff has announced the signing of Casey Willinbrink from Parkway South High School in St. Louis, MO.  Casey is a 6'1" 195 lb right-handed pitcher and infielder for the Patriots. "Casey is a big athletic kid. He has good upside and we expect him to continue to develop while at MAC." commented MAC assistant Mike Overman.  The Cardinals have now signed 10 players for the 2012-2013 season.Mineral Area will get its season underway on Saturday against Central Methodist JV at 1:00.

(2/4/12)  MAC signs Hunter Leeper from South Callaway High School.  The MAC baseball program continues to work hard on the recruiting trail, this time signing a Missouri product.  Hunter Leeper a senior at South Callaway which is just outside of Columbia, Missouri has agreed to become a Cardinal for the 2012-2013 season.  Hunter is an infielder who batted .442 with a .520 on base percentage his junior year.  Mineral Area starts their season this year on Saturday, February 25th against Central Methodist at 1:00

(1/17/12) Cardinals announce signing of 5 Texas high school standouts.  The Mineral Area baseball team has gained commitments from 5 players from the state of Texas in the early signing period.  Mauricio Junco, Victor Coronado, Christian Montes, Robert McArthur and Jerry White have all agreed to come play for MAC in the 2012-2013 season.  Junco, Montes and Coronado all play for North Shore High School in Houston, Texas.  McArthur is from Richmond, Texas and White from Spring, Texas.  "Mauricio will be expected to play a large role next year on the mound and behind the plate as well.  The second kid is Victor Coronado,  He will be expecting to come in and make an immediate impact up the middle for us.  Christian Montes is an outfielder that runs well and will be in the mix for a lot of playing time. McArthur is expected to be a rotation type guy for us.  White is a is a big strong first baseman who should be a middle of the order type of guy. we are excited to bring his bat to our lineup" commented assistant coach Blake Jones.  This is all a part of the NJCAA early signing period for baseball which went into effect January 15th.

(10/3/11)  Cardinals baseball having very nice Fall season.  The Men's baseball team is putting together a very successful fall season in Stan Walden's first year as head coach.  MAC is 10-4 with a very deep and talented roster.  MAC will travel to Neosho this weekend to play in the NJCAA Region XVI Showcase on Saturday in Neosho

.(9/12/11)  Baseball splits doubleheader this weekend in Memphis.  The Mineral Area baseball team played Jackson State Tennessee this weekend and split a doubleheader at Fed Ex Field in Memphis, Tennessee.  They lost the second game 10-6 and won the second by the score of 8-7.  MAC is now 5-1 on the season.  Up next for the Cardinals is two games at GCS Ballpark, home of the Gateway Grizzlies in Sauget, IL on Thursday, September 15th at 3:00 p.m.  The Cardinals will take on Lindenwood -Belleville. MAC will then travel to Springfield, MO on Sunday the September 18th to play two games.  The Cardinals will play Drury University at 10:00 and Fort Scott Kansas Community College at 12:30.

(9/6/11)  Cardinals open up Fall season with four wins. The men's baseball team won four games over the weekend.  On Saturday, September 3rd, the Cardinals played the Mid Missouri Select team on the MAC campus.  Mineral Area won both games by scores of 8-4 and 14-4.  On Sunday, September the 4th the Cardinals hosted BC Academy, again winning both games, by the scores of 12-2 and 2-1.

(8/20/11)  2011-2012 baseball squad begins practice on Monday.  The Mineral Area baseball team will start its preparation for a run at a MCCAC conference and NJCAA Region XVI title on Monday.  Stan Walden enters his first year as head coach with the help of a strong returning class that includes MCCAC and Region XVI First-Team 3rd baseman Tanner Glore (Potosi). Coach Walden has put together an impressive Fall schedule that includes Jackson State College, Fort Scott Community College out of Kanas as well as the NJCAA Showcase on September 25th.  MAC gets underway on September 3rd against the Mid Missouri Selects at home at Hal Loughary Field starting at 1:00.

(8/15/11)  Meet the Cardinals scheduled for September 8th at Engler Park. 

Mineral Area College is inviting the community to come out and spend a few minutes meeting the athletes of all of our fine sports teams for the upcoming year.  Bring the kids out to meet the 2011-2012 Cardinals on Thursday evening, September 8, from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Hall Pavilion in Farmington’s Engler Park.  Coaches and athletes from men’s and women’s basketball, men’s baseball, women’s softball, men’s golf, women’s volleyball, and the MAC cheerleaders will be on hand.   The coaches will be grilling up hotdogs and serving soft drinks while athletes will host a variety of activities and games for the kids to play.Come out and enjoy the evening with the Cardinals!

(7/15/11)  Mineral Area names Stan Walden head baseball coach.  Mineral Area assistant Stan Walden has been promoted to head coach for the baseball team.  Coach Walden has been instrumental in the team's success the past 4 seasons as recruiting coordinator and working with the Cardinals offense and defense. Mineral Area enjoyed one of their finest seasons this past year posting an impressive 31-18 record."I am very excited and honored to be the next head coach at Mineral Area College.  I would like to thank the school administration for the opportunity.  I look forward to the opportunity of bringing Mineral Area a MCCAC championship as well as a Region XVI title."  -- Stan Walden Stan has a long history in the game including 30 years of coaching baseball at all levels.  As a high school coach (at Caruthersville and Farmington ) from 1981 to 2004, his teams had an overall record of 335 wins and 192 losses; winning 10 district championships and appearing in 4 Missouri High School state quarterfinals.  Walden has also been part of the coaching staff of Team Missouri, participating in the Junior Sunbelt series; and also the MSHBCA Senior All-Star series.  In addition to high school coaching, Walden spent three summers coaching in a collegiate wood bat league, winning a KITTY League championship in 2005 with a record of 42-8 with the Farmington Firebirds.  He has also run numerous instructional baseball camps and clinics for players and coaches of all ages.  Walden also served as an Associate Scout with the Kansas City Royals.  He was inducted into the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association "Hall of Fame" in 2001. (7/12/11) Nine Cardinals move on to four-year universities.  The Mineral Area baseball team had one of their best seasons in recent memory. Powered by a strong sophomore class the Cardinals finished the season with an impressive 31-18 overall record.  MAC has had nine of their sophomores sign to continue to play baseball at four-year universities.  They are the following:Tim Vonder Haar- Murray State
