Enhancement Grant Super Match Incentive
First the $3-for-$1, Now the $6-for-$1 Enhancement Grant Matching Incentive
If people act quickly, they can actually multiply the value of their gifts even more! BecauseMineral Area College is so very close to the hearts of FRJC alumni Rowena (Brown) and Gayle Simmons, the couple has crafted a “super incentive” to entice donors to support the Foundation’s Enhancement Grant fund raising efforts. The Simmons offer contributors an exciting added incentive.
Why the incentive? Rowena says, “This College was the place where so many Flat River Junior College people got a start on their careers and their lives. It’s been incredibly instrumental to me, Gayle and so many others like us. We see how much the college does and we want to do what we can; supporting the Foundation’s fund raising effort is a great way to do that.”
Gayle, a MAC Foundation Board member, explains how the “super incentive” will work. “Rowena and I invite alumni, MAC employees, and friends to make contributions through August, and earmark those contributions for the 2009-2010 Enhancement Grant. We’ve established a ‘kitty’ to match up to $50 on each qualifying contribution. Only the first $50 per person will qualify, and only one per person. Of course, contributions in excess of $50 are indeed welcome, but only amounts over $50 will receive only the ‘three-for-one gain’.”
So, how does the $6-for-$1 match work? Gayle continues, “If a contributor sends $50 which qualifies for the match, this escalates to $150 under the state’s $3-for-$1 match. Then, the ‘kitty’ adds an additional $50 bringing another $150; and, thus producing a total of $300 from the original $50 contribution yielding $300—a 600% gain for the college!”
