Question to ListServ:
Some of the faculty at my college are running into a problem with File Exchange Assignments. Some students are being locked out of their assignments. What occurs is that the system locks the assignment as done but no file has been submitted. Now the student is locked out from submitting a file and the instructor can’t let them resubmit. Normally, if a file has been submitted the instructor has the option to re-open the assignment and let the student submit another file but if there is no file from the student the option to reopen the assignment is not available.
The only thing I can think of is that if a File Exchange assignment slips past its due date the system won’t allow new assignment to be submitted, even if the due date is changed to a later time.
I have told instructors to let students email the assignment but that isn’t an ideal solution. Has anyone else run into this?
